How Our Flight Tools Work

Data sources & privacy · Updated July 8, 2026

A plain-English explanation of where our traveler tools get their data, what we never collect, and why a result may occasionally differ from the airport screen.

What data comes from Amadeus

Our flight status, check-in link, and airport on-time outlook tools retrieve data from Amadeus travel APIs where available: scheduled and updated flight times, terminal and gate details, delay status, official airline check-in URLs, and daily airport on-time predictions. Amadeus is one of the world’s largest travel technology networks — the same infrastructure many airlines and agencies use.

What comes from official airline sources

Airline customer service phone numbers are not from Amadeus. They are collected and verified separately by our editor against each airline’s own published contact page, which every listing links to.

What we do not collect

Nothing. Our tools never ask for — and cannot access — bookings, passenger records, names, booking references, payment details, or airline account logins. Requests contain only what you type: an airline code, a flight number, a date, or an airport code.

Why flight data may not appear

Coverage varies by airline, airport, route, and how far in advance you search. If the network has no record for your query, we say so rather than guessing — check the airline’s own app, or call the airline directly using its verified number.

How often data updates

Flight status responses are cached for about two minutes; check-in links for a day; airport on-time predictions refresh daily. During fast-moving disruptions the airline’s own app and airport screens are the ultimate authority.

If our data conflicts with airline or airport screens

Trust the airline and the airport screens — they hold the operational truth, and gate changes can happen minutes before boarding. Our tools help you prepare and decide when to call; they do not replace day-of-travel announcements.

This tool never asks for your booking reference, name, or payment details. Flight and airport data is powered by Amadeus travel APIs where available — results may vary by airline, airport, route, and data availability. Links go only to airlines’ official websites. How our flight tools work →
